It took me a frustrated tempertantrum and feeling like an idiot, but I finally got my book of short stories published on Lulu last night.

Rejected: Nine Stories I Couldn't Get Published

It's available in paperback and for PDF download. I will probably attempt to do a proper eBook version, but it's going to be a few weeks because I have other things that I need to get done first.

Buy it and/or pass it on.
whiski_sour: (Ooh! Shiny!)
My etsy shop is finally up and running.

Buy something or pass it on.

You know what I love?

Cub fans bitching on Twitter about the Cubs sucking like this is the first year they've ever sucked. They haven't played well all year. We're now 19 games below .500. Don't take yet another loss so personally. Do what the rest of us do. Enjoy the few wins we do get, really enjoy the wins over the Cardinals, and drink. If you're a straight/bi female or a gay/bi male, then enjoy the pretty. We've got a lot of young eye candy this year. Just getting to see them makes a lot of these losses worth it.

At least in my shallow, shallow book.

You know what else I love?

Non-Cubs fans bitching about the volume of Cubs fans at Addison station outside of Wrigley. The field has been there since 1914 and it's common knowledge that the Cubs sell out or nearly sell out (the smallest crowd this year was just over 33,000) every game. LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE. I understand Chicago's a big town. I imagine you can find somewhere else to live. And if you can't? Then I suggest you learn to live with it. Otherwise, resign yourself to a miserable existence during baseball season.

Seriously, the whiners were out in force tonight. There was hardly any funny on Twitter to the game.

Dammit, don't these people understand that they're here to entertain me?
whiski_sour: (yay!)
A couple of months ago my story "Hillbilly Hunt" was selected to be in an anthology by Pill Hill Press.

Well, I'm pleased (excited as hell, really) to announce that The Middle of Nowhere: Horror in Rural America is now available for purchase on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble, just in time for Halloween.

So, if you've got a few bucks to spare and are in the mood for some scary stories, check it out.

It's not all corn and beans around here, ya know.

I was going to capitalize on my aggravation and make an ANGRY post, but I decided that it might create a situation and in that unlikely event, I am too tired to deal with the fallout.

Instead, let's have fun and play Scooby Doo.

After months on the market the house across the street (aka the former redneck colony) finally sold. I know this because someone put "SOLD" on the top of the realty sign.

So here's the mystery, gang...who bought the house?

Go wild, get crazy, be silly. I need some pure, unadulterated funny to wash the bitter taste of this day out of my mind.
whiski_sour: (not bad)
I hope everyone had a nice Easter. We didn't do anything to celebrate (well, Dad bought me blackberry pie, but I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with the holiday and everything to do with the fact that I love blackberry pie).

Sure, Carrie made a fuss about wanting to dye eggs for some reason, which would require me boiling the eggs because Carrie is afraid of the stove, and when this was made mention at my mother's house, Mom gave Carrie her old egg boiler.

But were any eggs boiled, colored, and hid? No.

Not that I wanted any part of the mess. I'm just saying.

We got an egg boiler sittin' on the counter, going to waste.

Somebody better make me deviled eggs.
