It got into the 60's today which was fantastic. The snow is melting big time which is also fantastic.

Except lots of melting snow means lots of lakes and ponds and rivers. I had the pleasure of driving through a nice sized lake in the parking lot at work. There's also a river running through it. Checking trailers today required some fancy footwork in order to not sink in the mud. Good times.

There are also some nice potholes. In the parking lot at the Plaza (McDonalds, Walmart, CVS, China Wok, doctor's office, and an atm), I was forced to drive through one large pothole filled with water. Only when I was driving through it did I realize how deep it was. Damn thing nearly swallowed my car.

Albert has the day off tomorrow. See at this place, you can take your birthday off. With pay. And if your birthday is in the middle of the week and you'd rather have a three day weekend, that can be arranged. Albert's birthday was Tuesday, but he's taking tomorrow off. So Chad will have me doing orders with his guidance. I'm looking forward to it. I like this job. I want to learn more about it.

Some conversation from the cubes today:

Kent, the order coordinator, was having a rough day.
Kent: Fuck!
Albert: No thanks.

Discussing the drinking Albert plans to do this weekend.
Albert: You're making me sound like an alcoholic.
Kent: That's because I always thought we were a lot alike.

Albert on the phone informing one of our drivers that he was randomly selected for a drug test.
Albert: Guess what! Your name was drawn out of a hat. You get to pee in a bottle!

To me this is all funnier because you can't see anybody. You just hear the voices.

It's warming up this week. It's supposed to hit 60 before the week's out.

The giant piles of snow are melting.

I can see this green and brown stuff underneath of it.

I think it's mold.

The Super Bowl is over.

Tomorrow baseball season begins.

Pitchers and catchers report next week.

Do you feel that, my fellow baseball fans?

It's spring!

I walked around barefoot outside today and did not get frostbite. It was wonderful.

However, it is guaranteed that if I do go out barefoot, I will be required to walk on rocks or pine needles or other uncomfortable things, usually due to cat behavior. Today I had to route Stella back to the house because she went behind the garage, which is all fancy gravel.

My first time out barefoot, I'm not broke in yet. I was slow and a bit hobbly, but I managed to get Stella back where she belonged.

And Carrie laughed at me.

I'm pretty sure Pete was laughing at me, too, but she won't admit it.

I took advantage of the nice weather today and washed all of my sheets and blankets, hanging them out to dry. It was sunny and warm and windy. Perfect weather for hanging out laundry and getting that good, fresh smell. I love going to sleep on sheets that have that smell.

Anyway, it ended up being three loads. I did the sheets first. By the time I brought the second load out, the sheets were dry. By the time I brought the third load out, two of my blankets were dry and my comforter was mostly dry. I had everything in before five and probably would have been able to bring it in earlier if I wasn't being lazy.

Behold! The Power of Spring!

FYI: I'm putting the rest of my Harry Potter action figures (Werewolf!Lupin, Quidditch!Harry, and Quidditch!George) on eBay over the next several days. Watch this space.

I can't tell if it's just because it's a new month or because the temperature has been above freezing for four days running and the snow is almost gone, but I'm just bursting with productivity. I haven't struggled once this week to get anything done.

Now watch, I've just jinxed myself and I won't get another damn thing done for the rest of the week.

Speaking of the weather, the weather people have forecasted that it's going to be in the lower 50's for the weekend. Carrie asked if this means that we're done with snow for the season. I told her there was no guarantee. Well, first I laughed like a crazy person, then I told her there was no guarantee.

Don't let Severe Weather Awarness Week and Tornado Awarness Month fool you. We've had snow and twisters before.

They don't call this the Season of Change for nothing.

It got up into the 60's today with lots of sun and a nice breeze. I was able to open up my bedroom window and get some fresh air. It was so nice.

It's supposed to stay warmer this week (upper 40's to lower 60's) and we may get some rain/storms a couple of days, but I'm planning on taking advantage of the nice weather if I can.

How? Setting up a chair in the sun and reading? Going for a nice walk? Playing frisbee demolition in a muddy park?

No.

I want to do laundry and hang it outside to dry. It just makes the laundry fresher and so nice and I miss that during the colder months. I try to take advantage of any random warm day we get in the winter to do laundry and hang it out.

I wonder if I'd feel this way if we owned a dryer.
