Apparently our newspaper person was having a bad bout of Deja Vu this morning because instead of getting today's paper, they gave us yesterday's paper.

As someone who has a questionable hold on reality and only vaguely knows what day it is, it was kind of disconcerting.

However, I realized the mistake fairly quickly.

Dad read most of the first page before he noticed.

I'd laugh (harder), but that's where my DNA comes from.

We didn't get a newspaper. I'm guessing it's because they figure people are too busy shopping to read them.

I call bullshit because I don't shop and I wanted to do the Cryptoquip.

Now that the little holiday speed bump of Thanksgiving is out of the way, people are really gearing up for Christmas. I'm not talking so much about the shopping (though, that's fucking insane); I'm talking decorations.

People in the neighborhood already have their lights up. I guess some people's Thanksgiving traditions include putting up Christmas decorations. Mine include getting drunk and playing cards.

Carrie wants to decorate for Christmas, put lights up in the house. I pointed out the lights on the banister that have been there for twelve years, but somehow they don't count. So I guess we'll be doing a bit of actual decorating for the holiday this year. I brought the Christmas sled down from the attic (my grandmother decorated a wooden sled with lights and ornaments...it was one of the last things she made before she died and my aunt gave it to us the first Christmast we spent without her) and I imagine Carrie will rope me into stringing up some lights in the house.

But hopefully after December 1st. I spent too much time in retail. If I start whipping out the Christmas spirit too early, it gets stale real quick.
