The heat wave is over!

Today was the last day of the heat advisory. Tomorrow it should be down in the chilly upper 80's.
I like that even with excessive heat we can have Panic TV.
In the mornings, I put on the local weather station and listen to it while I read the paper and eat my breakfast because I'm really a 70 year old man when I first wake up. For the past three days they've been warning about the dangers of hot temperatures and high humidity.
Now, I know that the heat can be dangerous. I played ball in this weather. I've had heat exhaustion twice. As it is, I'm swollen up from it, my left foot the worst for some reason. People can die from the heat. I know this.
But, the way they were going on about it on the weather station had me rolling. It was very much "do not go out of the house or you will instantly burst into flame, your eyeballs will melt, and your dying screams will haunt the neighborhood children for the rest of their lives provided they don't go outside and suffer the same painful fate".
I felt it was a little bit excessive and panicky, especially today, since the heat index barely topped 100 most of the day.
Made for great background noise while I did the sudoku puzzle in the paper, though.
