Well, everyone else is doing it...

Okay, not everyone else is doing it. Two people on my flist posted about it today (rock on
luchalibrarian and
laerwen!) and I realized it's been awhile since I posted it about it.
That's right, kids. It's a fat girl fitness update.
Last week or maybe the week before, I can't remember, I added a little bit of ballet strength to my workout schedule. I felt like my leg muscles could use a little extra work, so Monday and Friday I do a round of simple strength moves based on ballet.
So I'm now stretching and belly dancing five times a week; lifting weights and doing sit ups three times a week; and doing yoga and ballet strength two times a week. It sounds like a lot, but in the grand scheme, it really isn't. It usually ends up being about an hour total, including breaks and cat interruptions.
Now that I've maintained my weight for over a year (I thought I'd do a repeat of no day job weight gain, but only gained four pounds and stopped), I think it's time for me to start eyeballing the 200lb mark. I think with some minor adjustments and a little bump in the cardio, I think I might be able to do it in the next year.
A year to lose ten pounds? Yes. For me, yes. The trick isn't losing the weight; it's keeping it off. I could do a whole lot of stuff to lose the last thirty pounds I want to lose, but I bet I couldn't keep it off. I do it my way, I know I'll be able to keep the weight from coming back and that's what I really want.
Even if I never lose another pound from this day forward, I want to be damn sure I'll never gain another pound either.
