I decided not to watch Green Hornet tonight. Batman featuring Vincent Price as Egghead is almost more crack than I can handle.
Radek got a little squished and shredded, but he remains intact and my Fraggle. Other Zelenka fans will no doubt be pissy at how he got shown up by a fifteen year old, but I'm going to point out that the angle made sense to me. The kid grew up working hyperdrives and basically built her own. Zelenka doesn't quite have that experience nor is he typically in the habit of thinking positively or pushing the limits of science. This doesn't mean he's stupid; it just means that he has his hang-ups like the rest of us.
In other episode news, laws I loved the dialogue in this ep. So many good lines. So many good scenes. So much good interaction. Todd and Woolsey. Daniel and Rodney. Sheppard and Radek. Even Ronon and Keller had a good moment.
I'd be in bliss if Lorne had been in it.
Also, what happened to Caldwell? Did I miss some exposition while Spot was yowling or something?
And I know (from the screaming on Gateworld and the bitching on Joe Mallozzi's blog) that the bad ass aliens were revealed to be Asgard because it was spoiled in the promo, but I still liked the reveal. The suits were cool and the Asgard were rather uppity and jerky. Good times.
In conclusion, awesome episode. So much love.
I'm still not sure if I'm going to like this show based on the execution of the premise. This episode's story was pretty okay, but I think that since I've yet to become emotionally attached or really like the three main characters, I'm sort of "meh".
However, my love for Henry the tech grows, even though it seems to be a running gag that he gets held at gun point. He could be enough of an anchor that keeps me watching the show.
But then there's the two faced guy! Chuck! Chucknician is the two faced guy, who may have a name, but if he does I missed it, so I'm going to call him Stanley. I love Stanley. The elevator ride with Zimmerman was fun, even though I didn't care much about his ex-girlfriend angst. It's Stanley that sold it for me.
And the Chaka rip-off (mental note...learn more names) is growing on me.
So, at least character wise, there's enough there to keep me watching for a while.
They need to do something with the green screen, though. I know it's all high tech and hey, look what we can do, but it's really jarring during the fight scenes. I'm hoping as the season progresses, that will get better.
