whiski_sour | I like that we celebrate our independence day with explosives

There's a lovely toxic haze hanging over the town from all the fireworks. It's nice.

Damon, Carrie, and I went to watch the fireworks. Damon brought his own. We sat in the Walmart parking lot and amused ourselves and the little kids near us by setting them off until the big show started. A former co-worker of mine ended up parking next to us and I talked to her during the show, getting all the good gossip.

Afterwards, we came back to the house, set off smoke bombs in the driveway and had an epic lightsaber battle a la Empire Strikes Back. It was awesome. We then moved to the backyard to light up the remaining morning glories. Damon nearly set himself on fire three times over the course of the evening. It was great.

Another lightsaber battle ensued in the backyard and Carrie took pictures on all of our cell phones. They ended up looking kind of cool.

We've spent the past couple of hours conversing, as we do, watching the firework haze dissipate.

It's been quite a satisfactory Fourth of July for us.

And we have cupcakes.
