Job well done

whiski_sourAs I predicted, my dad did not get a new rat while he was on vacation. Once again, the task was left to me.
Today, I ventured up north and, accompanied by my faithful sister-sidekick Mimzie, acquired a new rat.
Shorty Blackwell.
Named for a Monkees song (as dictated by the rat naming tradition I inadvertantly started a few rats ago).
He's a rather young rat. He's a medium sized one, so he won't grow into a monster like Zero was. He should be about Frodis' size (although he lacks Frodis' awesome ears) and he's already displaying a better handling temperment than Ditty (she was so nosey she couldn't stand to be held for too long).
It was a tough choice between him, the slightly older medium rat that had this whole "get off my lawn, you damn kids" aura, the only large rat that my sister dubbed The Lone Ranger, and the two small lesbian rats. But Shorty was so small and he didn't look too well at first until the PetCo guy picked him up so I could get a look at him. He raced across the top of that cage and stuck his nose in my eye. I knew then that he was mine.
And since my sister left her cellphone in my car 'cause she's a dweeb, I'm going back up there on Friday to take it back to her and possibly take Hammie to see Narnia. I need to take her and Hobbit to a movie before I go back to school and don't have the time.
I've also gotta get my license renewed in the next week. Better do that sooner than later since there's the possibility of having to take a written test.
Ya know something? It might also be helpful if I put up a 2006 calendar. Just a thought.

I'm still trying to figure out if I am going home or not tonight. The weather isn't looking so hot but it won't clear up till Saturday so I can't figure out what to do. If I keep staying a day longer it will make it that much harder to go back to Buffalo...
I REALLY miss chatting with you though!!! Give Shorty a cuddle for me!
PS.
I got my wipers fixed...$196 in total...am told that isn't too bad as they had to replace the motor.
