I made dinner tonight and I think I poisoned myself. I think I might be out to get me. So, if I end up dead, you know who did it.

Never mention sheep lungs to my father. You'll get a half hour dissertation on the history of meat eating in the United States and Britain. In unrelated knowledge sharing, Dad informed me that the garbage can in the garage smells like a four day old dead body. I'm fairly sure this is all valuable information that will serve me well later in life.

Dad also realized that the front yard had been mowed today when he was helping me unload groceries. At first he suspected a neighbor of doing it until I fessed up to doing the deed. We'll just not mention the fact that I told him last night that I mowed the lawn.

See, this is why he thinks I'm going to Rockford all the time. He doesn't listen to me.

I think I'm going to bed early tonight. All the talk of sheep lungs and head cheese and cow intestines has spoiled me for constructive conversation tonight.

He resembles my father on military politics.

Of course, in the Little House books, they ate roasted pig's tail...
