Aug. 27th, 2004 02:20 pmPositive vibes and *hugs* to both
winged_fire and
rakshi, as they both have family members in the hospital.
I'm definitely staying home tonight (not like I have an incredibly active social life to begin with) to watch the Olympics because men's platform diving is on and well...*giggles like a 13 year old girl*. Yeah.
There was a time when my sister was much cooler and not so ghetto and the man wasn't keeping her down (yeah, she really did say that...apparently it escaped her attention that she's white and by default IS the man) that we'd play a computer game called Summer Olympics.
Now you have to understand, this was during the days of Atari and just as Nintendo was gaining steam. Way back in the day when Commodore 64 was a primo computer system. My sister and I, as well as kids my mom babysat for (Jared, Phillip, Amanda, and Jamie) would play that game for HOURS. I can't remember all the events you had to do. I know there was running (which would inevitably give you blisters from having to move the joystick back and forth so much), pole vaulting, gymnastics (just the vault though), skeet shooting, and stuff like that. But, the best was the platform diving. We used to punish our poor players trying to get them to belly flop and hit the platfrom on take off and stuff like that.
We were pretty disturbed kids, now that I think about it.
Anyway, good times.
I should really attempt writing today. I was gonna update my website, but I don't feel like sitting at the computer all afternoon.
And, I must beta a nice piece of story from
hobbitgal. Oh yes. I'm going to enjoy this. Muwahahahahahaha!
Feh. Dad just got home from work. He will not feed me. Therefore, I must forage for my own lunch. He sucks.
