Oh, I'm smooth
May. 23rd, 2004 11:08 pmI've just managed to hurt myself. Badly.
In the tradition of Sammy Sosa throwing his back out sneezing, I reached around with my left arm to scratch an itch on the right side of my back and managed to pull some unknown muscle under my left armpit. A minute of "ow ow ow ow that was stupid ow ow ow" turned into "it hurts when I do this, it hurts when I do this" and is oddly enough becoming "somehow the nerves under my armpit are magically connected to my elbow and my wrist because now they hurt and do not want to be moved either".
And, the worst part of it all is my back STILL itches. *sniffles* Pity me.
Anyway, I caught the last half of the 1970's LOTR cartoon movie on Cartoon Network. Dood. For awhile there I thought I'd put acid on my burrito instead of cheese. That's some seriously fucked up shit right there. All the Uruk-Hai looked like Sandpeople from Star Wars and the battle scenes were like live action with cartoons pastede over yay. I think this movie proves without a doubt that bell bottoms affect creativity and not in a good way.
My LOTR cartoon acid trip was occasionally interrupted by EBS weather warnings. The guy who talks after the beep is way too monotoned. Shouldn't he be more dramatic when reporting tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings? I just don't think the monotone conveys the seriousness of the situation. It should be more frantic. Like, "Nobody panic, but there's a severe thunderstorm warning for YOUR county. Now these thunderstorms can spawn hail the size of your head and tornados that can destroy your whole town in a matter of seconds. These tornados can drop down without warn- OMG! THERE'S ONE RIGHT BEHIND YOU! GET DOWN! GET DO-" And, then it goes back to your regularly scheduled program.
Okay, maybe not as informative or accurate, but it would at least be entertaining enough I wouldn't mind my cable being fucked up for two minutes.
Off to amputate my arm now.

Date: 2004-05-25 08:39 pm (UTC)As for the weather announcement...your version is much, much better. I like, I like.
And as for the 70's LOTR cartoons. When I was a kid... they always use to creep me out...even though I loved the books.
Of course, here I am now and I own all three of those cartoons. Go figure.
