It's not like I'm doing anything.

self_defected.
1. Take five books off your bookshelf.
2. Book #1 -- first sentence
3. Book #2 -- last sentence on page fifty
4. Book #3 -- second sentence on page one hundred
5. Book #4 -- next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
6. Book #5 -- final sentence of the book
7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph
Book#1- Unnatural Exposure by Patricia Cornwell
Book#2- Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz
Book#3- A Density of Souls by Christopher Rice
Book#4- The Princess Bride by S. Morgenstern
Book#5- Fairy Stories retold by Jane Carruth
My paragraph...
Night fell clean and cold in Dublin, and wind moaned beyond my room as if a million pipes played the air. They spread out to form a line and advanced purposefully across the yard, across the patio, past the swimming pool, toward the rose garden, probing with the flashlights, menacing figures as featureless as demons in a dream. Katie put Jordan up in her new apartment for a year. In the center was a small leather wine holder and, beside it, some cheese and some apples. In time, he became King, and no one ever guessed that the only creatures he had ever killed were seven little flies which happened to like strawberry jam!
I think we got a hit.
In looking for books on my bookshelf, I realized I'm seriously lacking fiction books that aren't Harry Potter. And, I've never read Fear Nothing and A Density of Souls. I think my mom gave them to me.
Mental Note- When you win the lotto, buy more fiction books and actually read them. One cannot live off science and serial killers alone.
