A couple of nights ago, I had a dream about a wedding at Grandma Lush's house. I was at the house and supposed to be going to it, but I couldn't because I couldn't find the clothes I was supposed to wear. So I ended up driving to Pontiac with [livejournal.com profile] winged_fire and Amanda and while we're driving through town, we saw tornadoes. Then my cellphone rings and in the dream I wake up and answer it. My mother asks me if I'm coming to the wedding.

Apparently, I was having a dream within a dream, all about this stupid wedding.

Last night, I finally made it to that wedding. However, I still don't know who's getting married. I just know all the chairs were set up in Grandma's kitchen and I was sitting there, waiting for it to start.

Perhaps it's too be continued again.

And, yes Phe, I am leaving certain details of the first dream out. They could get me severly beaten, if you take my meaning.

I bailed early yesterday and went to bed. I was just useless, really. Slept like ten hours so I'm feeling a bit more refreshed.

The governor of this lovely state I call home, Rod Blago-something (our last governor's name was Ryan and that was way easier to spell), is opposed to gay marriages in our state. He's also opposed to civil unions for gays. However, his sister-in-law is a lesbian and should she decided to go to Canada and get married, he'd gladly attend and bring a present.

Um. Somehow that just does not compute in my head. I have a feeling he'd only go to the wedding because his wife would make him.

Dear Governor Rod,

I think Illinois should make gay marriage legal. Firstly, it'd be a precedent of sorts (which this state is just not known for). Secondly, it'd show what hip people we all are...equality for everyone and all that. And, lastly, think of the money to be made! Gay couples from all over the country would flock here to get hitched and that means they'd spend money here. And, wouldn't that just totally help the state budget you so elegantly assfucked without lube?

Oh, sure, the religious people and conservatives and the like wouldn't be too happy about it, but they'd get over it. Especially when they realized the gay people getting married here aren't staying here and wouldn't taint their oh so pure soil permenantly. Besides, what's the worst they could do? Not re-elect you? Well, you don't have to worry about that. After all the shit you've already done, there's no way in hell you're gonna get re-elected anyway, unless you're running against a retarded, three toed sloth, and even then it'd be a tight race.

Not to mention the fame you'd get by it all. The first governor in the US to allow gay marriages in his state? C'mon! You'd be booked on every news show on the air! Larry King will offer to have your babies for an interview! Bill Maher will wet himself over the prospect of talking to you! Bill O'Reilley will jerk off every night to the fantasy of having you on his show!

Really, you can't lose by making gay marriage legal.

And, if, having read all the positive persuasion, you still don't want to make gay marriage legal in Illinois, then at the very least, lower the fucking gas prices like you said you would in your fucking campaign. At least do ONE productive thing while in office besides pissing people off and going to Walgreens.

May the Good Fairy bless you by turning you into a toad,
Chesh

Think that would be convincing enough?

Oh so it was one of THOSE dreams. *wink*

And that was the best letter to a politcian I've ever read. Bravo! (For some reason, I almost typed broccoli instead of 'bravo'>)
