Day of the Ninja Stick
Mar. 16th, 2008 11:12 pmSpot likes to play with drinking straws. Whenever we get soda with our fast food, one straw ends up being Spot's toy (she's been known to take them before you're done with them). At one point we counted at least eight. Dad threw all but two out, however, the collection is growing again and she's up to four.
We call them ninja sticks because of the way she plays with them. She flips them around with her paws like she's challenging Jackie Chan to a throwdown. She also likes to snatch them up in her mouth and run from room to room with them. It's not uncommon for her to take one upstairs and bring a different one down.
This morning she found her clear ninja stick and went running upstairs with it. She came down a few minutes later and fell over on Dad's newspaper, fighting with the ninja stick, apparently unhappy that Carrie was still sleeping.
A few minutes later, Spot jumps up and runs back upstairs only to come down a few minutes later with her red ninja stick.
Tonight, we had Taco Bell for dinner. Carrie and I both got sodas. Carrie took hers upstairs to watch tv. She came downstairs to go to the bathroom and check Twitter. I was in my room and I could hear Spot calling for Carrie (she does this every time she "loses" her). Eventually, Spot came in my room carrying a ninja stick and half-heartedly batted it around. Carrie went through the living room and I pointed her out to Spot. As soon as Spot heard the steps squeak, she took off, leaving her ninja stick behind.
A minute later Carrie comes back downstairs, Spot following her.
"Did Spot bring you a ninja stick?"
I picked up the one still laying on the floor and handed it to her. Carrie shows me her Taco Bell cup. No straw.
While Carrie was in the bathroom, Spot had gone upstairs, stolen the straw out of her cup, and brought it down to me.
Carrie went back upstairs, bemoaning how nothing was safe in this house, Spot following right along behind her.
Half an hour later, Spot comes down once again and brings me her new ninja stick.
I guess Carrie was done with it. Heh.
