I admit that I was worried going in. I was afraid that it would be too angsty, what with Castle poking his nose into Beckett's mother's unsolved murder and her unhappy with it. I guess I thought it was going to be too much for a second season opener when the first season only had 13 episodes.
I was wrong.
Thirty seconds in, I was in love all over again.
Was their angst? Was their tension? Yes. But it was done so beautifully and with such a light, truthful hand that it melded nicely in with the case and the characters.
I love the cases. They're fun, inventive, a little twisty. What you expect from a mystery. But, it's the characters that keep me hooked. I love them. Sure, they've got the fastest wit around, but you expect that from TV shows. At least the wit feels real. The chemistry is fantastic. And, they've all got room to grow. Love it.
I'm so excited for this second season. Please, don't let them fuck this up. I'm enjoying it.
This show has made up for a really lackluster Monday.
In related news, I'd do both of the people in my icon and I need more icons of them.
I'm just saying.
