The lesson of today's episode is that people are jerks that should be pistol whipped. All the time. Stunning's nice, but pistol whipping gives you that nice ache of accomplishment in your arm that throbs with satisfaction.
I'm a naturally violent person.
There was a lot of moral implications shoved in this ep. The leader of the village, the jerkass vigilante, selfish guy who bit it, Sheppard and his constant war with trying to do the right thing, and Beckett all had a go. Gotta hammer home the point that this is serious business right before the trial ep, I suppose.
Beckett was a bit badass, though. I was impressed. And the Beckett/Rodney banter is always a good watch. I was waiting for Sheppard to steal the show, but he didn't. That's always nice.
And what the hell happened to the first group of people that were taken to the gate? Did they end up on the hive ship or were they just killed or what? I'm guessing this will come into play later. I hope.
For the most part, the episode was kinda meh for me. The Beckett/Rodney banter saved it from being completely dragged down by the rest.
The green screen is getting better. Not nearly as noticible or jarring as it has been.
The story, again, was meh for me. I'm guessing it's because SGA has spoiled me into a faster pace and Sanctuary moves a little more slowly. I'm still not finding my link to the three main characters, yet. However, I still love Henry. I was just disappointed that there was no Two Faced Guy tonight.
I'm hanging in there because I have hope that business will start to pick up, as they say (okay, as Jim Ross says). There are definitely some intriguing aspects to the show, though I'd love an episode of just hanging out in the Sanctuary getting to know the abnormals that hang out there.
And, even if things don't progress beyond this level, it's not a bad show. I'll just watch it for Henry. And Two Faced Guy.
It's not like I've got a social life to nurture.
In other news, I'm wearing a shirt that blinks when I move. I can't turn it off. The odds of the battery surviving for long are not good.
