Yeah, I still don't have the pictures done. Maybe tomorrow. I don't know. I'm still in that weird con existance at the moment. There were things I wanted to do today that just didn't happen. I'm probably going to ride the week out like this.

Today was the day I decided to wear my costume. Now, if you saw pictures of my costume, you know it was really no big thing. But, wow, I got tired of that thing fast. I don't know how some people wear more elaborate stuff all day. I'm seriously doubting I'll do a costume again next year (if I do, it'll probably be just for the parade).

Our first panel was the opening of the Stargate Track. I wanted to ease Carrie into the con experience and that was the first panel I went to last year and it was great way for me to start.

The track is led by Marsha, a really great woman who employs a really great staff, including a McKay. One of the guys who helps with the track does a great McKay impression. He kind of looks like him, acts like him, and had a great replica of his uniform. Unfortunately, we didn't get pictures of him, so just take my word for it.

During the panel, Marsha asks if it's anyone's first con. I do my duty and point out Carrie. At the point, McKay turns around, holds up his coffee mug (which has "genius" printed on it) and says, "For everyone who just raised their hand, my coffee cup is half empty." It was great.

Our next panel was supposed to be Firefly (Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk), but they changed the location that morning and there was a bit of a clusterfuck concerning the line and we bailed. We resigned ourselves to just staring at them in the Walk of Fame later. Instead, we got in line for the Battlestar Galactica panel. Excellent move on our part.

But before we went in to get in line for the panel, we stopped outside the Marriott so I could have a smoke. And I'm smoking, crowd watching, as you do, but not paying a whole lot of attention. Carrie suddenly says, "Hey, that looks like Dustin from Ghost Hunters."

I look up. "That is Dustin. And Robb."

Carrie proceeded to have a moment. I told her this was common place at DragonCon, but the first time is always special (by Monday you're like, "Oh hey, that's so and so. Dood! Get a picture of the pimp Cookie Monster!").

The BSG panel featured Kevin Grazier (the technical advisor), Tamoh Pennikett, Michael Hogan, Edward James Olmos, Aaron Douglas, Collin Corrigan, and James Callis. This was Michael Hogan and Edward James Olmos's first DragonCon and, obviously, their first panel. I think this panel convinced them to try to come back.

First, there was a guy who did a dead on Saul Tigh impression that had Michael Hogan bowing to him. I really think that made his con. It was awesome.

Then, Edward James Olmos told a story that I knew from last year's con. You see, the actors have mic packs around their ankles. The sound guy needed to mic Aaron Douglas. Aaron was wearing his orange flight suit. Not a problem. The sound guy kneels down, Aaron unzips his suit, and, well, Aaron doesn't wear underwear. To which Edward James Olmos says, "Aaron cold cocked the guy...literally."

Carrie about fell out of her chair. I died in place. He goes on to say that Aaron is well hung and so is Tamoh which prompts Michael Hogan to ask, "Why have you seen all of these people in states of undress?"

And then it was a "giving Aaron shit" free for all.

It was just...oh, yeah. That panel was a great way to introduce Carrie to celebrity panels. Those people were so much fun. And it wasn't the last time we saw them, either.

After a trip through the dealer room, we went to the Walk of Fame to scope it out. I accompanied Carrie to get her first autograph ever. It was Sean Astin. When she told him it was her first con and her first autograph, he was right there with her, holding her hand and trying to calm her nerves. He signed the picture she picked out and wrote that she was number one on it. He was so incredibly sweet to her and an excellent first autograph.

I also got my picture taken with Micky Dolenz. I was nervous about acting like a spazz when I met him because OMGMICKYDOLENZ! But, he's a very mellow guy and that kinda seeped out and affected me, so it was a very laid back meeting and he was a really nice guy.

We went back to the hotel for some food and so I could change out of my costume. We were going to go to a track party, but ended up spending the whole night people watching on the Atrium level of the Marrott instead. Once Carrie got the nerve to ask people for pictures, she was on a roll.

It wasn't too late of a night when we finally headed back to the hotel to indulge in some D*TV before finally succombing to sleep.
