The end of an era

It was hot today. Not as bad
txvoodoo's Gates of Hell, but still pretty damn hot. And the dewpoint was in the lower eighties, so it was that nice, drippy, jungle heat. The highest temp I saw was 91 and the highest heat index was 107.
The cats were puddles of fur. The rat melted (no shit, he just oozed off his box and laid wedged between it and the glass). Frozen bottles of water, smartly placed fans, and little movement was heavily featured.
And then, this afternoon, not long after Carrie nearly killed herself on the stairs (she's limping and bruised and is going to be sore for a few days), Dad turned on the A/C for the first time this summer.
The streak has ended.
August 4th. It's a new record.
