Today was a little bit crazy, which is unlike a Wednesday. I'm usually struggling no to succumb to boredom.
Anyway, before things went WTF on us, I found out that my job will be changing.
See, the plan is to centralize dispatch for the six plants (Illinois, Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and California) here. So the way Chad would like to do it is one person take care of the drivers, one person build loads and do order entry, and one person make the phone calls and do clerical work. Right now, the last job is mine; Albert and Chad do a combo of the other two jobs for only two of the plants.
But, since Chad thinks that I'm catching on to things pretty quickly and doing well, he would like to bump me up to load planning and order entry (which I've done a little of) when things go centralized. This means Albert would be just handling the drivers and they'd hire someone to do the phone calls. Chad would be soley account manager and supervisor of all things under the transport sun in our little office.
So, yeah, that's something to look forward to, I suppose.
Load planning/order entry is going to be more work, though. I'm going to miss reading the paper in the morning and writing in the afternoon to help fill the time.
I'll still be able to listen to ballgames, though.
