Rabbit rabbit cat spectrum
Jul. 1st, 2008 04:04 pmYesterday, Pete brought me a live mouse from across the street (but, thankfully, did not bring it in the house). After losing it twice, she gave it to me. I picked it up; it jumped on my boob and ran up to my shoulder while Carrie squealed like a girly girl. I pulled it out of my hair, it jumped out of my hand, and Pete caught it again. Again, Pete gave it to me and I deposited it into the tiger lillies. Pete then spent the next twenty minutes looking for it in the last spot she had it despite me repeatedly telling her that she had given it to me. Apparently, Pete had forgotten this incident after about thirty seconds.
This morning, I fill the food bowls (inside and outside), pet Stella as she sits in the window and with no warning, she bit me. She broke the skin. I've got two fang marks just above my right wrist. Unfortunately for Stella, she was trapped in the window and I thumped her (before anyone accuses me of animal abuse, I bopped her on the head a few times and scolded her...I didn't wail on her or anything).
I figured this to be a harbinger of things to come since I planned to give McGee a bath. She's got skin problems and keeps chewing herself raw in spots. A bath might just put an end to it. With Carrie's help, we got her in the house and in the sink. After the initial bitching, she settled down (she never once went for us, though she did try to escape a few times). I did it as quickly as possible and Carrie fed her ham while I dried her off. Ham cures all traumas and she's not holding the bath against us.
After all of this, Spot is my favorite cat of the day. She's getting over being in heat and has slept almost all day. Since she's been no trouble, I love her most right now.
