This qualifies as excitin' 'round here
Mar. 27th, 2008 11:59 pmDad got his picture in the paper today. There was an accident yesterday afternoon that tied up the 51/54 intersection for three hours and he was working the scene. They caught him just as he turned and started walking so he looks like a duck trying to fart.
I told him I's so proud I's gonna hang it on the fridge.
Damon stopped by today. We played catch up because we see each other so randomly. Carrie actually got to have a conversation with him. The last two times he's been here, she's barely had a chance to talk to him (once she was sick and once he was just popping in and she only saw him as he was leaving).
I told Damon that I was taking Carrie to DragonCon this year (money permitting) and so we relived the memories from last year's trip. Good times. He said that it was only a one time thing for him, but they way he talked about it, I bet we could get him to go again. Heh.
He and Carrie get along pretty well. We should all probably hang out more.
Progress on "Spillway" has slowed, but that's mostly because I'm getting caught up in doing other things, not because the story's dying on me. The goal is to finish it tomorrow or Saturday, depending on how much time I can get to myself.
And I'm happy to report that I've got another idea for a short story that I think I can start as soon as "Spillway" is done. Thank laws, the well ain't dry.
