"Archamedes? The greek scientist who had a crush on Teyla?"
My word! Ronon has emotions! And we got to see a whole spectrum of them. The joking playfulness with Teyla; the hardass we've come to know and expect; the emotional crying. Crying! Jason Momoa is more than just head of wild hair; he can actually act. The withdrawl scene was great, just so painful and heart wrenching (if you're a good person, which I'm not...Carrie told me it was though). He did a fantastic job and it was nice to be reminded that Ronan is more than just a warrior.
And I liked that we got closure with Tyre. It's a little cliche that he died a hero, but it was nice. And I did like the character so it's a shame that he won't be coming back. Or will he? This is Sci-Fi after all.
"I'm not taking a bath with you." That's the Sheppard I like! It almost erases the unpleasant taste of him being a douche. Even his speech to Teyla about making a choice was more like frustrated!Sheppard of past seasons. Though Carrie did point out that logic only makes sense to him if applied to other people (well, she phrased it more like "Oh, so it's okay for Sheppard to go out with his guts falling out, but Tyre's too sick to go").
Woolsey was great. Carrie and I agree; we are so happy he's on board. The scene where he couldn't get the doors to open, the one with him and Teyla's baby, the end in his quarters and he's wearing a suit because that's "comfortable" mixed in with him being a by the book hardass...it's all fantastic.
I don't think there was any doubt that Teyla would rejoin the team, but it was nice that they at least addressed the fact that it would probably be a difficult decision for Teyla to make. Now let's give her something else interesting to do.
Rodney in the bathtub almost makes up for the lack of Zelenka. Almost. Rodney didn't have a lot of opportunity to be snarky, but the line about not having to go back and listen to Woolsey say "I told you so" is definitely a keeper.
And, Lorne popping up in an episode always makes my day.
Finally, I'd like to adress the concept of the Wraith's "Gift of Life". They feed off of human life. But sometimes, they give it back. So, really, if you've benefited from the Gift of Life, then you're made of Wraith vomit. Because that's what it is. And that Wraith who used it for brain washing? Obviously bulemic.
In other, non-SGA news...I finished my rewrite of "In the Dark", which means I can haz Hellboy II! Hooray!
