Nude is too overdressed for this weather...
It hit 96 degrees here with a heat index of 111 (which was cool compared to Effingham that topped out at around 100 with a head index of 123). Of course we didn't turn the air on until just a little bit ago because we're not pansies, dammit.
So with no A/C and a triple digit heat index, I decided that since I was going to have to heat up the oven anyway, I might as well roast tomatoes. Even though I waited until I was totally done with the chopping and prepping before I turned on the oven, it was still seriously sweaty business.
Amazingly, I did not melt or die of the heat frustration.
Natually, Dad didn't turn on the A/C until after I was finished with dinner. Not that it would have mattered. We've just got two window units. There's no way they could compete with a 425 degree oven in this heat. Hell, they pretty much only cool two rooms without the oven on.
But at least now I'm not sweating until I get to the bathroom instead of all the way there. I'll take the reprieve.
