"You'd better not be wearing your prom dress when I come back in here"

I don't know how I felt about shoving the dead woman in the safe. I think it would have been good enough to shoot her dead and cut off her finger because she wouldn't fork over the ring. The safe thing...eh...it felt too over the top to me.

The rest of the episode was great. I so love the interactions between the characters. Loved the Daddy/Daughter fencing, the jinx thing, the shooting range, every encounter with the old jewel thief, the perp naming discussion, the red carpet. Ryan and Esposito (I looked up his name this week) are fast becoming my favorite pair. There was just enough levity to balance out with the seriousness. The scenes with Beckett connecting with the grieving daughter and her stress over trying to find the "monsters" kept it grounded and kept the humor in check as more of a stress reliever than anything else.

The only other nitpick I had was with Beckett's dress at the charity function. Don't get me wrong, I think Stana Katic is a beautiful woman and she has a rocking body. The back of the dress was nice, showing off the curves. The front of the dress from the waist down was nice, again with the curve. The bodice, though....yech. It did absolutely nothing for her AND it was ugly. Loved the color though.

Also, I don't know what they did with her hair. It's like they were going for a look, fucked up in the middle, and finished with something completely different. I don't think it was very flattering. I thought that maybe it was a Beckett-fails-at-being-girly thing, because the dresses in her closet were hideous, but no. She had Lainey there to help her. The woman would not let her out of the house with her hair looking like that.

The final scene, with Beckett sitting down with the Castle family for breakfast, was a good way to end, I think. Showing that she's slowly but surely being integrated into their lives. She'll be verbally sparing with the whole bunch in no time. It pleases me.
